Since I am a mom in the generation where photo albums now reside on some social media site or another, I will begin my very amateur attempt at blogging.
I was blessed with the most precious baby boy, Chase, two and a half years ago. And suffice it to say that, as a working mom, I have not kept up my motherly duties of capturing every milestone in his life. I have managed to document the very big milestones; first words, first steps, first birthdays. But somewhere along the way, probably after all of the “firsts” were completed, I just stopped.
I have scraps of paper with height measurements, weight, and head circumference written down and stuffed into Chase’s baby book, just waiting to get a permanent place. I have hundreds of pictures crammed in the Shutterfly folder anticipating a place in his photo album. Funny though, if you go on my Shutterfly account all of Chase’s pictures are neatly arranged by chronological date in event specific folders.
So I figured, since I spend so much time in front of the computer, why not make a virtual baby book? Isn’t that what this world is coming to anyway? And won’t it ensure that Chase will always be able to view all the moments, no matter how insignificant, from his childhood? The internet is never going away. It is a way to perserve all the memories with 100% certainty. And with Chase begin able to work an iPhone better than I can, I’m sure he will be able to maneuver my simple blog site.
Oh to be able to sleep like a baby!
